(previously published by Ida Mae Detienne)

  • 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 cup cocoa
  • 1/2 cup soft butter or margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup walnuts

Grease 8” x 8” x 2” pan. Sift flour 3 times with the next ingredients in to large mixing bowl. Add butter, eggs, and vanilla. Beat 2 minutes on medium speed. Stir in nuts until just distributed. Turn into pan, spread to even thickness. Bake 20 to 30 minutes at 350 degrees or until barely done. Cool in pan, then cut.
